"Don't Be a Bystander,” says one of the anti-bullying posters created by Tualatin High School students. It’s an important message for students to hear.
In an effort to combat the growing bullying crisis, Teacher Rachel Robinson showed her advanced digital arts classes Teaching Tolerance’s film, “Bullied: A Student, a School and a Case That Made History.”
Moved by the film’s message, the students decided they wanted to spread the word to the rest of the school by making anti-bullying posters. Robinson supported the idea, telling oregonlive.com, “Not tolerating bullies needs to come from the top down and the kids up. It is our moral and legal obligation to protect the kids.”
We commend both Robinson and the school’s administration for taking the students’ idea to the next level—a school-wide poster contest. The resulting 70 posters are a compelling reminder of the power of student activism.

Thank you for providing this
Thank you for providing this link! My seventh graders checked out these posters as part of
a lesson about bullying - they analyzed them and discussed them, and have been inspired to do
something similar next year (a campus-wide competition for posters) to make people more aware
of bullying's effects.
Rachel Robinson did a nice
Rachel Robinson did a nice job of creating awareness against the growing
phenomenon of " bullying " in the educational campus. It is said, if you
not solving the problem you are a part of the problem.Whereas display of
posters that dare to speak up against " bullying " need to be applauded
it is also to be seen how to dissuade the elements from practising and
" enjoying" bullying tactics.Bullying may enable one to get things done
instantly, but in the process you are losing one useful hand as and when
you happen to be in need of it and you will realize it all the more if you
are no longer in a position to employ " bullying tactics".Those indulging
in bullying need to be indoctinated in the right direction.Prevention is
always better than cure.Best wishes to Rachel for her noble assignment !
