In November 1998, ten New Yorkers set out for Laramie, Wyoming, to explore a town and a crime that occurred there. After interviewing more than 200 residents, they created a deeply moving play about bigotry and tolerance, fear and courage, hate and hope.
HBO is bringing that play to the small screen with the March 9th premiere of "The Laramie Project," which chronicles the small western town's loss of innocence following the 1998 hate murder of college student Matthew Shepard.
Tolerance.org and TeachingTolerance.org are pleased to be educational partners for this television event. We invite you to explore "The Laramie Project" and encourage you to ask yourself: Four years later, where are we now? Whom have we forgotten?
