After exposure to relevant literature in class, students will research their family history by interviewing their parents. They will use this information along with visual props to tell their story to classmates.
Students continue the activity by locating on a classroom map the countries from which ancestors immigrated. The props and the family history information are then incorporated into a visual display on paper quilts that depict the array of diversity in the classroom.
