Nilanjana "Buju" Dasgupta is an associate professor of psychology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is interested in people's beliefs and attitudes toward social groups, with special attention to mental processes that promote stereotypes and prejudices toward disadvantaged social groups. Her recent projects focus on specifying factors that create and magnify stereotypes and prejudice, examining their influence on behavior and developing strategies aimed at undermining such biases. These projects have been funded by the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Mental Health and the American Psychological Foundation.
