I have a passion about helping others see the beauty in diversity. I believe from the depths of my being that love is the answer to the desperation in our world today. I heard a beautiful quote the other day that made me really think about how it is possible to not merely tolerate, but to actually embrace and love others who are different then us; “We can love completely without complete understanding.” (A River Runs Through It, 1992)This concept was just resonating in my mind, and I realized that this is often the case. We may never understand completely, for we have not walked in anyone’s shoes but our own. This is why empathy and compassion are two of the key ingredients for allowing love to blossom. I think that open, rationale discussions on a wide array of cultural, political, social, and economical issues is of vital importance in clear communication. By developing mutually respectful relationships with people from all walks of life, society as a whole ultimately benefits.
