Using literature with teens

I was wondering if anyone has read any of the following and has any thoughts about the following three books. I have used two as teaching tools and discussion prompts at the Fresh Air Fund's Camp Hayden-Marks. As the CIT Director I prepare teens to work with children and develop leadership skills. The following books all prompt great discussion about race, values, and life lessons. This summer I'm going to only use one of the following books. Need some advice to which one might be best if anyone has read them.
1.) Spinning into butter (a play) - It's about an African American students in a predominately white college who is harassing himself but pretending he doesn't know where the acts of racism are coming from.
2.)Tears of a Tiger - A novel about a young man who kills his best friend in a drunk driving accident and in the end kills himself because he can not live with the guilt.
3.)Monster - (a screenplay/novel by Walter Dean Myers) this one is about a boy who has been convicted of a crime. I haven't fully read this one but our 5th graders seem to like  it and it seems like a great book for discussion. And I like the whole screenplay/novel thing it has going on.

Any thoughts? Thanks :)
