I have just finished reading the article "Reaching Students Where They Are" in the Fall 2009 edition of Teaching Tolerance. I am very thrilled to see this informtion because it directly relates to my passion--Diversity Education and Diversity Certification for leaders in the field of education. To that end, I develop and launched last Fall a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Diversity Education. This Fall, I launch a Certification in Educational Leadership Diversity. Both of these projects are described on my website at www.schoolofed.nova.edu/oceda.
The discussion I would like to initiate is does the educational leaders see a real need for this type of education and training. I would also like to discuss the content of the article in TT as well as the content of the degree and certificate program.
Question: Do you see relevance in your geographical area? Which methods are best in addressing diverse situationa?
