Are kids with learning disabilities disrespected in your school?
In Mentors Offer a 'Spark of Hope' , Patti Dodds says she teaches kids who are dyslexic or have ADD who are "... extremely creative, but getting it from their brains to the paper is a problem."

Noticing a stigma related to learning disabilities, she started a mentoring program with Dartmouth students that's been going on for three years.

Do you see this stigma in your school? How do you deal with it? Are there programs like Dodd's where you are? What's the best way to bridge those boundaries?

In this week's Mix It Up essay, Dane Pennerman talks about how his friends Roberto, Melissa and Hakeem used to be friendly with each other -- but not anymore.

Dane concludes that communication between groups is the only way that they will ever become friends -- or friendly -- with one another.

Do you agree? Why? How do you deal with friends who aren't friends with each other? What's the best way to bridge those boundaries?
