A. Tooley works toward creating an anti-bias curriculum for their classroom and for K–5 educators. They focus on designing and integrating units for elementary classrooms that incorporate identity, diversity, justice and action. They began their teaching career in Apple Valley, CA in 2014 in an elementary classroom. In 2018, Tooley moved to Los Angles and now teaches within the Los Angeles Unified School District in the elementary classroom. They were a part of the January 2019 teacher strike and have continued their work to bring equity, access and integrated units into their classroom and school.
