Michele Israel owns Educational Writing & Consulting (www.micheleisrael.com), where she works with large and small educational, non-profit and media organizations to bolster products and programs. Her rich career spans over 25 years of successfully developing educational materials and resources, designing and facilitating training, generating communication materials and grant proposals, and assisting in organizational and program development. In addition to lesson plans and other teacher resources, Michele’s portfolio includes published articles, instructional guides, and a booklet entitled, Interfaith Understanding: Published in Schools, published by the Center for Spiritual and Ethical Education.

Michele’s gardening passion began six years ago in her son’s school, where she launched a very success edible garden (ps107.org/garden/) that was featured in Michele Obama’s book, American Grown. This experience extended her gardening work, support and advocacy in NYC, primarily through the NYC Youth and School Garden Network, which provides myriad resources and networking/educational workshops.
