Christina Torres is an English teacher at Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. A graduate of the University of Southern California and Loyola Marymount University, she previously taught for two years in Los Angeles. Katy writes about issues of power and privilege for the Whitman College Pioneer and, as a politics major, studies systems of oppression in international and domestic politics. She focuses her studies on political economy of women and works in her community with an organization that facilitates discussion and works to empower young women to become strong leaders. Katy is passionate about breaking out of her comfort zone, trying new things and going on outdoor adventures.
